The best jazz orchestra of Russia. A ten and a half splendid jazz musicians. It s all about Igor Butman Big Band, which was founded 10 years ago by a renowned saxophone player Igor Butman and arranger Vitaly Dolgov. Since 1999 Big Band has frequently toured Russia, Europe, and the USA, appearing at the world s most prestigious jazz venues, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Birdland and others.

LABer Band was started by a Moscow pianist Evgeny Revnyuk in 2007. While building up his band Evgeny took the advantage of experience in music playing, brainstorming and experimenting with different styles and genres acquired in many years. That is why repertoire of LABer Band traces the features of modern jazz and funk, Latino rhythms and fusion, mainstream and world music.
Music by LABer Band includes auteur compositions (mostly created by Evgeny Revnyuk) but yet modern original transcriptions of famous jazz standards.

The Brazilian jazz, which is performed in Portuguese, is an exotic phenomenon for Russia. Even though interest in Latin America made the region s music popular around the world, the Brazilian bossa nova is terra incognita for the Russian audience. It is somewhat unusual granted the music we play is far from elitist it is democratic and accessible to everyone.
So what kind of music does "Esh" perform?
It is not bossa nova in a traditional sense. Rather, it is a combination of subtle and refined rhythms of Brazilian samba and bossa nova, pierced with effervescent jazz improvisations; it is a charming voice our vocalist and, finally, a unique sound of songs in Portuguese, which resembles the chirm of exotic birds and the splash of the ocean in far away Brazil.
Our repertoire includes classic Brazilian jazz, arrangements of Antonio Carlos Jobim s songs, many of which are unknown in Russia, and our own songs composed in Portuguese. |
